Are you interested in the political process? Do you want to get more involved?

If you answered yes to either of those questions, then this is the right time for you to get more involved.  If you contribute to the MEA PAC (Political Action Committee) Fund, you are eligible to serve on the Millard School Board Candidate Interviews.  During the interviews, you will have a chance to visit with each candidate on their views of education in Millard.  Then the committee will make a recommendation to the MEA membership on which candidates to support by endorsing the candidate as well as contributing to their campaign.  If you are interested, please contact Paul Schulte at meapresident@hotmail.com to serve on the interview team.

Another opportunity to become politically active would be to volunteer for a local, state, or national candidate that is being endorsed by NSEA.  Besides the school board candidates, there are currently three legislative district that include the Millard Public Schools.  The NSEA endorsed candidates are Steve Howard for District 4, Greg Hosch and Merv Riepe for District 12, and Matt Lathrop for District 20.  NSEA is also endorsing Bob Meyers for the State Board of Education, District 8.  Finally, one of the most important races that will affect education across the state is the governor's race.  The NSEA has endorsed Chuck Hassebrook in the gubernatorial race because he has prioritized public education during his campaign.  If you are interested in working with any of these campaigns, please contact Brian Mikkelsen by email at Brian.Mikkelsen@nsea.org .

The only way we can continue to focus on public education is to get involved and VOTE!!
